Wellbeing that flows through the water. Ischia’s hot springs
Ischia benefits from a wealth of thermal springs, with around one hundred dotted across the island. These underground waters are packed with elements and minerals. Their heat and active substances make them a natural remedy for various disorders, including respiratory diseases, bone and joint problems such as neck pain and rheumatism, skin diseases, motor rehabilitation following trauma, sports injuries and surgery.
Our emotions can also benefit significantly from thermal baths and showers, thanks to their calming and relaxing effect. The colour of Ischia’s thermal waters ranges from green to brown, depending on the predominant mineral content. The springs contain sulphur, iodine, chlorine, iron, potassium and many other trace elements. The temperature ranges from around 37‒38°C. Visitors can bathe in the thermal springs at a number of hydrothermal parks on Ischia in Sorgeto bay, the Fonte di Nitrodi and Cava Scura, as well as in various thermal-mineral water pools in the hotels. However, people wanting to cure particular disorders should see a doctor, who will prescribe the most suitable bath cycle, method and hot spring type.
